Connecting the Christian story to life’s deepest quesitons.

Questioning Christianity (QC) exists to help people connect the Christian story to life’s deepest questions.

Founded in 2021 by Dan Paterson, QC began with a simple conviction: God is not afraid of our questions. Doubts—and doubters—are welcome. If the Christian story is true, and Jesus really is good news for all people, then the gospel should stand up to scrutiny and speak meaningfully to the questions of our time.

Whether you're exploring faith, wrestling with doubt, or seeking to share your beliefs with clarity and confidence, QC offers thoughtful, intellectually credible, and culturally relevant responses that resonates with our search for meaning.

Our resources are designed to remove unnecessary barriers to belief and to equip both seekers and believers to navigate conversations about faith with depth and grace. Each year, tens of thousands engage with QC through public speaking events, while hundreds of thousands more connect with our digital content. Through our Training Academy, we help sharpen an emerging generation of public Christians—those who long to follow Jesus in both word and witness.

Our work centers on three core areas:

  • Speaking: Live events that open space for dialogue and explore faith in public.

  • Digital: Accessible online content that engages hearts and minds.

  • Training: Equipping believers to communicate the gospel with confidence and compassion.

Together, these arms work to commend and defend the Christian faith in the spirit of the Apostles—meeting people where they are, and translating timeless truth into a world full of big, honest questions.

QC is based in Australia and operates as a registered religious charity, funded by the generous support of people who share our passion for the gospel. Dan and the team lead day-to-day operations, and our work is overseen by an independent, qualified volunteer board. If you have questions or need to raise a concern, you can contact the board anonymously here.

What we believe

The Questioning Christianity team is committed to embodying the core truths of the historic Christian faith, as articulated in the Lausanne Covenant—a globally recognised statement of evangelical belief.

Originally crafted in 1974 by Christian leaders from across the world, the Covenant expresses a shared commitment to the authority of Scripture, the uniqueness of Jesus, the urgency of evangelism, and the call to live out our faith with integrity, compassion, and cultural relevance.

  • Absolutely. We believe truth invites questioning. Whether you're skeptical, deconstructing, or just spiritually curious, your questions are valid and welcome. Jesus himself asked questions, and the Christian tradition has always made room for seekers, doubters, and thinkers. We're here to walk with you, not to push you.

  • QC² is a one year coaching program designed to train emerging Christian leaders for the unique task of public Christianity and evangelistic speaking in our secular age, with the goal of multiplying healthy evangelism around Australia/NZ by training local evangelists who commend Christian truth with a distinctly Christian tone.
